Magnesium Anode Bags
For complete cathodic protection
With cathodic protection using magnesium anode bags, you can provide complete cathodic protection for installation such as propane tanks, underground pipes, buried steel assets, docks, piers, and fire hydrants. Anodes made from magnesium can protect underground tanks under most soil conditions. The High potential alloy is very effective. Typically, two different qualities are used: standard potential (1.5 V) and high potential (1.7 V)
Our anode bags come complete with a 2 ft. (10 meter) red XLPE/PVC 8 AWG cable and robust canvas bag. The cable connection is embedded in epoxy for extra durability. Cast to meet the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) Standard B843.

Application areas for the anode bag

Anode bag for propane tanks: Buried propane tanks face corrosion challenges due to soil conditions and moisture content. Magnesium anode bags can be buried alongside these structures, providing localized protection by attracting corrosive agents and sacrificing themselves instead of the vital infrastructure.

Sheet pilings: Anode bags are essential for protecting sheet pilings from corrosion, especially in marine environments. The anode bags provide cathodic protection by creating an electrochemical reaction where the anode material corrodes preferentially. Easy to install and maintain, anode bags can be strategically placed along the pilings for comprehensive coverage.

Pipelines: Magnesium anode bags are frequently employed in the protection of pipelines. They help prevent corrosion caused by the presence of dissolved salts, stray currents, or other electrolytic reactions that can compromise the structural integrity of these assets.

Offshore Oil and Gas Installations: Offshore platforms, pipelines, and subsea structures face particularly harsh and corrosive conditions due to exposure to seawater and harsh weather. Magnesium anode bags, along with other cathodic protection systems, are deployed to ensure the longevity and reliability of these assets, minimizing maintenance costs and downtime.
