ICCP - Dock / Harbour

Corrosion Protection at Dock / Harbour

Ports are a critical component of global trade, logistics, and maritime operations. Their structures and functions are indispensable in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and resources worldwide. However, ports are continuously exposed to harsh marine environments, leading to corrosion—a silent but destructive process that can compromise structural integrity and long-term sustainability.

Why Cathodic Protection in Harbours?

Using the right type of cathodic protection, will prolong and ultimately stop corrosion. This will not only justify the costs of protecting the sheet piling from corrosion. This will also eliminate any repairs related to corrosion. This means, no new sheet pilings to be installed for a very long time.

How does ICCP work on sheet pilings or pier pillars?

Cathodic protection in ocean environments with a higher resistance, which is the case in some harbor’s, are often designed with an impressed current (rectifier) in addition to the anodes. This is due to the sacrificial anodes limited output.

Typical application method for metal sheet pilings or pillars
  • Flush mounted – The installation is aligned with the surface to minimize impact on the surrounding structure and ensure even protection. This method is often used where space is limited or where mechanical impact needs to be avoided.
  • Mounted on seabed – (if allowed, this method is preferable since it allows fewer anodes to protect a larger area). By placing anodes on the seabed, a more efficient protection of larger areas can be achieved with fewer anodes. This method is particularly beneficial in environments where access to the structure is limited or where increased coverage is required for long-term protection.

Dive deeper into our solutions

Marine structures are constantly exposed to harsh environments, making effective corrosion protection essential to ensure long-term performance and durability. We offer tailored solutions, including design services, sacrificial anodes, and ICCP systems, to meet the unique needs of your infrastructure.

Projecting

We design corrosion protection solutions to ensure long-term performance in demanding marine environments. Our tailored designs consider site-specific conditions, providing robust protection for quays, edge beams, and pilings, while minimizing maintenance costs.

Sacrificial Anodes

Sacrificial anodes play a crucial role in protecting structures from corrosion. We provide high-quality anodes specifically designed to withstand harsh marine conditions, ensuring reliable protection and extending the lifespan of critical infrastructure.

ICCP

Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) is a highly efficient solution for protecting infrastructure against corrosion. Our systems are custom-designed to deliver consistent, long-term performance, safeguarding quays, docks, and pilings in aggressive marine environments.
We Offer: Consultation, Projecting, Installation, Maintenance and Worldwide Cathodic Protection Material Shipping.
