Harbour

Leaving sheet piling unprotected is both dangerous and can lead to significant repair costs. Since key infrastructure in ports and under quays often relies on steel, it is frequently exposed to corrosion. This can easily be avoided by installing cathodic corrosion protection.

Korrosionsgruppen has been designing, installing, and delivering cathodic protection for over 35 years.

What we provide:

  • Design calculation
  • Correct dimensions
  • Accurate documentation
  • Service and verification

Concrete piles

Concrete piles in harbors are vulnerable to corrosion caused by saltwater and marine environments. Protecting the embedded steel reinforcement is crucial to maintaining the structural integrity of the piles. Applying cathodic protection systems can significantly extend their lifespan, reducing maintenance costs and improving safety in harbor infrastructure.

ICCP

Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) is a highly effective method for protecting harbor structures, including steel and reinforced concrete. By supplying a controlled electrical current, ICCP prevents corrosion and ensures long-term durability in marine environments. This active protection system is particularly beneficial for high-value assets exposed to aggressive conditions.

Sacrificial anodes

Sacrificial anodes are a proven solution for protecting steel structures in harbors, such as pilings, pipelines, and sheet walls. These anodes corrode instead of the protected structure, providing a cost-effective and low-maintenance option for corrosion control. This passive system is ideal for smaller or less critical harbor installations.
